In the beginning the establishment of the corperation was know as the Legal Unit on 28th of March 2006 after a long discussion and agreement of the 41st University Management Meeting. This unit was formed with a number of administrative officers with legislation experience.

On 13th of October 2016, the 104th University Management Meeting have agreed upon the request of changing the name of the unit to Legal & Integrity Unit and enforced on 1st November 2016. This unit now will be divided into two section which is the Integrity Section and the Legal Section. The Legal Senior Officer was appointed as the person incharge of this unit that day.

On July 2019, the Legal & Integrity Unit was reformed to Legal Advisor & Integrity Office which was led by the Legal Advisor.

Pada permulaan penubuhan dikenali sebagai Unit Perundangan pada 28hb. Mac 2006 setelah dipersetujui oleh Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Universiti kali ke-41. Unit ini dianggotai oleh para Pegawai Tadbir yang mempunyai latar belakang perundangan.

Pada 13hb. Oktober 2016, Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Universiti kali ke-104 telah meluluskan pindaan nama Unit Perundangan kepada Unit Perundangan & Integriti berkuatkuasa pada 1hb. November 2016. Unit ini mempunyai dua seksyen iaitu Seksyen Integriti dan Seksyen Perundangan. Pegawai Undang-Undang Kanan telah dilantik sebagai Pengurus Unit ini berkuatkuasa pada 1hb. November 2016.

Pada Julai 2019, Unit Perundangan & Integriti telah dinaik taraf kepada Pejabat Penasihat Undang-Undang & Integriti yang diketuai oleh Penasihat Undang-Undang.
